The Trails HOA adopted the Altamonte Springs parking ordinances to govern street parking. CHAPTER 24 – TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

 

 

Trails Owners & Residents:

To keep our streets safe for drivers and pedestrians, the following parking restrictions are in effect within the Trails neighborhood. Please take a moment to review them and share them with all your household drivers.

Parking Restrictions 

• No street parking by residents. Residents should utilize garages and driveways for parking Vehicles. 

• Temporary street parking is acceptable for purposes of short-term guests, home maintenance, or children-at-play and should at all times abide by the City of Altamonte Springs Code of Ordinances Chapter 24. 

• All temporary parking should be parallel with the edge of the roadway and headed in the direction of traffic. 

• Vehicles cannot be parked in a manner that impedes the movement of emergency vehicles.

• No parking on sidewalks or yards. Vehicles should not be parked off of the concrete driveway.

• No parking in the grass along the curb (HOA right-of-way).

• No parking in front of a driveway in a manner that obstructs either the driveway or the view of the driveway from passing vehicles.

• No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 30 feet of a stop sign, or 20 feet of a crosswalk. 

• No parking in such a manner as to block access to garbage cans, recycle bins, or yard waste by city vehicles or employees. 

• No parking in such a manner as to block access to cluster mailboxes by USPS employees. 

• No large commercial vehicle (Definition of a Large Commerical Vehicle: GVW over 26,000lbs or it has three axles, it is a commercial motor vehicle) parking is allowed in the Trails neighborhood. All commercial vehicles are subject to towing between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. if they are parked on the roads. The towing company randomly drives through for inspections. No large commercial vehicles shall be parked on driveways or property within residential districts except for loading or unloading purposes. Lightweight commercial pickup trucks, work vehicles, and vans are allowed to park in the driveway of the resident only per the new Florida law. If the Lightweight commercial pickup trucks, work vehicles, and vans are parked on the road they are subject to be towed.  

• Vehicles that are unsightly, inoperable, or that do not have a current and valid license plate and validation sticker affixed to the license plate are prohibited within the city unless stored in a completely enclosed structure.  

• No parking of a boat and/or trailer, house trailer, mobile home, camper, RV, or other similar vehicle on the street or right-of-way. These vehicle types may be parked in driveways for loading or unloading not to exceed 24 hours. 

The towing company below has been contracted to remove vehicles that do not comply with violation notices or create an immediate hazard to the safety of our streets. Towing signs are located at the Trails entrance. Only an authorized representative on file can request a removal. Individual homeowners cannot call the number to request a vehicle be towed.
